Dr. Ahmed Bayoumi
Dr. Bayoumi is a Scientist at the Centre for Research on Inner City Health at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute and a general internist and HIV physician at St. Michael’s Hospital. He holds the Fondation Baxter & Alma Ricard Chair in Inner City Health at St. Michael’s and the University of Toronto. He is a Professor in the Department of Medicine and in the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He is a past Director of Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the University of Toronto and Past President of the Society for Medical Decision Making. His research interests include access to the delivery of health services, particularly to people living with HIV, people who use drugs, and other marginalized populations as well as economic evaluations, decision analyses, and quality of life assessments.
Dr. Branka Agic
Dr. Agic, MD, PhD is the Manager of Health Equity at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Public Health and Associate Field Director, Master of Science in Community Health (MScCH) in Addictions and Mental Health at the University of Toronto.
Her primary research interest is in the area of mental health and substance use among immigrants, refugees, ethno-cultural and racialized groups. Branka is currently the lead on the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada-funded Refugee Mental Health Project and a co-investigator on the SSHRC-funded Exploring the mental health and service needs of Syrian refugees study. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT) and is a member of the UNHCR Regional Beyond Detention Strategy Working Group and Special Advisory Table on Syrian Refugee Resettlement.
Dr. Christina Clark-Kazak
Christina Clark-Kazak is Associate Principal, Research and Graduate Studies and Associate Professor, International Studies at York University’s Glendon Campus. Her research interests include: age discrimination in migration policy; age mainstreaming in development programming; and research ethics. She is Editor-in-chief of Refuge: Canada’s Journal on Refugees, and formerly served as director of York’s Centre for Refugee Studies and as President of the Canadian Association for Refugee and Forced Migration Studies. She holds a doctorate in International Development Studies from Oxford University, a Master’s in International Relations from Cambridge University and a BA in International Relations and French from the University of British Columbia.
Dr. Farah Ahmad
Dr. Ahmad, MBBS, MPH, PhD is a health services researcher with a focus on psychosocial health, vulnerable communities, primary care and eHealth innovations. She is Associate Professor in the School of Health Policy and Management, York University and Affiliate Scientist at the North York General Hospital. Dr. Ahmad applies health promotion and equity perspective in her research to understand and improve health and health care systems. The key foci in her research are mental health, partner violence and cancer screening. She uses mixed-method research designs which range from randomized controlled trials to in-depth interviews, focus groups and concept mapping. She has published extensively on the health of immigrants, refugees and racialized women. Currently, she holds the CIHR Investigator Award and Early Researcher Award from the Ministry of Economic Development and Innovation for her work on Interactive eHealth Innovations for Mental Health Access in Primary Care.
Dr. Jennifer Hyndman
Jennifer is Professor in the Departments of Social Science and Geography, and is Director of the Centre for Refugee Studies at York. Her research focuses on conflict asylum and related human displacement, humanitarian emergencies, well as refugee resettlement in Canada. Current research projects probe identity and politics in the Toronto Tamil diaspora after 2009; the conundrum of protracted displacement among Somali refugees in Kenya (with W. Giles); and refugee settlement among ‘new and few’ groups in British Columbia. For more information see research interests.

Yogendra is a Senior Research Scientist at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services and is an adjunct Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto.
